Chippewa (Ojibway) inspired Manitou Sculpture or Totem. Hand carved and assembled from local Basswood, Butternut, hand painted, fur, leather, beads, feathers, etc.
20 and 1/2 inches tall. Numbered and signed by artists Kevin and Tanner Gadomski.
As well as intelligence and strong family ties, Blue Jay is a totem of warning, letting others know when danger is present or fooling them into believing so. A more colorful member of the Crow family, he or she can also be a bit of a poser, often trying to imitate the Hawk. Usually found where oak trees are present, Blue Jay gathers berries and sage in a birch bark basket. Eastern Woodland floral designs.
