Chippewa (Ojibway) inspired Manitou Sculpture or Totem. Hand carved and assembled from local Basswood, Butternut, hand painted, fur, leather, beads, feathers, etc.
19 inches tall. Numbered and signed by artists Kevin and Tanner Gadomski.
As well as Nurturing, Great Horned Owl is a totem of Medicine, and of knowledge of things unseen. He understands that the invisible and hidden are often just as, if not more, important than the blatantly obvious. The design on his shirt piece illustrates this dual nature. An Ojibway Spiderweb Charm symbolizes a portal to this hidden realm through dreaming.
(I've been lucky enough to have one hanging about the back yard the past week or so. He talks to me as I'm falling asleep at night.)
